In The Chain Gang Brain Puzzle the idea is to free the black ring from the red chain and then reattach it as a prisoner. A Chain Gang was a group of prisoners who were chained together and had to do heavy labor as a form of punishment. In an attempt to escape, it was essential to first free oneself from the chains.
